Alana began her career in journalism and moved on to teach high school English to underserved populations. After the birth of her first child, she decided to stay home with her (now) four little ones and open her own business as a writer and editor. Immensely proud of her roots, she is an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and loves barbecue like any real Kansas Citian. Although COVID-19 has made some of her favorite activities an impossibility, she loves spending time at events or in the outdoors with family and friends. She has camped every summer since age 14 and has a passion for working with young children--one of motivating factors that led her to education. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in executive leadership, with hopes to earn her third professional certification this fall. A résumé writer for more than five years, she is a Certified Professional Résumé Writer, a Nationally Certified Online Profile Expert, and an active member of a number of professional organizations, including: the National Résumé Writers’ Association (NRWA), the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches (PARW/CC), the Society of Elite Resume Writers (SERW), the National Association of African-American Resume Writers, and Career Directors International (CDI).
